Air
Upon the first wake up,
Get up,
head outside,
to the crisp meeting
of air on flesh.
And I smile
Realizing
This simulation is real.

of air on flesh.
And I smile
Realizing
This simulation is real.

Movement
His hand moved down
her shoulder.
Running the path along
her breast
brushing her arm
seeing her flesh.
With a gasp,
he blushed.
her shoulder.
Running the path along
her breast
brushing her arm
seeing her flesh.
With a gasp,
he blushed.

Mine
A thousand years from now
our small metal children
buried so carefully,
will leap out of the ground,
and say hello
(goodbye)
to the future.

Maybe not mature,
but the only thing that came to mind.
Strange music makes my chest tingle
and I
imagine somewhere outside,
people are awaiting to accost me.
Maybe I’m at fault
maybe I’m to blame,
no one has the right to say.
But for this moment,
hiding in the bathroom seems the safest thing to do.

Headache
Brain dump.
The largest natural
depository in the world*
always at my disposal.
And located just above my shoulders
and right below my cushion of hair.
Sometimes,
the sting sets in
and I’m forced to,
every so often,
Release the hatch!
Witness contents flowing out,
sounds never heard,
sights never, ever seen…
Clear pointless nothings
paraded in my face,
saved for too long,
collecting a painful film of dust.
Empty once again
my head no longer aches.
*depending on your definition of largest, or natural, or depository.

What’ll this get you?
Some pocket change
A guitar pick
And a little lint.
Fist opened
Leads to clinking metals,
falling faces,
landing with a
tink
tink…
hand snatches,
27 cents.

If today should be the first time that it happens,
then it only stands to reason there’d be nothing to compare it to.
Random quantum fluctuations
keeping me on my toes,
waiting for our universe
to crash into its brother.
Or for that sun,
which I adore so much from a distance,
to come in for a closer look
and melt away my house,
not to mention my flesh.
